West End Motors Ltd (WEM) was founded in 1947 as Diesel and Auto Electrical Specialists and specialising in Engine Overhauls and Refurbishments of Pre-War Cars until new cars became available for sale again. In the Mid 50's WEM became Vauxhall and Bedford Dealers for Westmeath, and held this franchise until 1982, when the marque was discontinued in the Republic of Ireland. In late 1984 WEM acquired the Volvo Franchise and in 1985 also included the Suzuki Car Franchise.
